What is executing process group and how does PMP® define it? All project works are performed in this place. All the work which was planned during the planning process group is done exactly here. There are certain project requirements and needs defined in the project management plan. The executing process group uses number of different processes in order to finish the work specified in it. It is team's responsibility to decide whether or not a given process is helpful to a given project.
The process group's task is to coordinate both people and necessary resources. They are also supposed to integrate and perform the activities of the project not forgetting about strict obedience of the rules and guidelines present in the project management plan. Of course there are more than one variance of execution what may lead to some replanning. Duration of a given activity, the amount of information possible to be explored as well as its availability can to a large extent vary.
These kinds of changes may but do not have to influence in any way the project itself. However what may be needed are further analysis which may result in changing the request. If the request will be approved though it may it is highly possible that project management plan would be modified and a new baseline then will be necessary. The executing Process group consists of several project management processes. First one is direct and Manage Project Execution.
During this process it is possible to direct numerous interfaces, both technical and organizational. They are in the project in order to perform the work specified in the project management plan. The second one is Perform Quality Assurance. For applying previously planned, systematic activities this process is of vital importance. It also ensures that project uses all processes that are crucial in fulfilling the requirements.
Another process is: Acquire Project Team. This process takes care of proper selection of appropriate crew, helpful in project completion. While the Develop Project Team process the competences as well as interactions between members of the crew should be improved. If both factors (competences and interaction ) will be on the highest level than the quality of performance will also be satisfactory. One more process is Information Distribution process.
Here the information are made available to the stakeholders cooperating in the project. It is available in a timely manner. During the Request Seller Responses information, quotations, bids, proposals and offers are obtained. There is also a Select Sellers process. Here the offers are revised. Team makes a choice among probable sellers and negotiate a written agreement with the vendor. To sum it up here are the most important objective of the Executing the Project: to perform all aims specified in the project plan, clearly settle expectations as well as enable ubiquitous understanding, implement quality management plan and make the team's performance as efficient as possible.
